De olie uit de zaden wordt al generaties lang door de woestijnbewoners zeer gewaardeerd en door hen ook \u201cvloeibaar goud\u201dgenoemd. Jojoba-olie is eigenlijk een plantenwas, die vloeibaar is bij kamertemperatuur, maar troebel en vast bij kamertemperatuur. Jojobaolie trekt snel in de huid zonder vet aan te voelen of te glimmen en laat een heel dun, beschermend waslaagje achter op de huid.
